The first building on this site, a church, dates back to the 12th century. Around 1200 this church became the chapel of a Benedictine nunnery first known as the Priory of St James and later as Hinchingbrooke Priory. The warm and quiet atmosphere of the Library makes it is a favourite choice for civil ceremonies with seating for up to 120 guests.
With views overlooking the grounds the Library offers an attractive alternative to the Assembly Room for the wedding breakfast, seating up to 120 guests on round tables.
